Privacy Policy

Effective July 16, 2026 · Applies to the Pocket Cal iOS and iPadOS app

Pocket Cal ("the app") is built and operated by Kevin Hall. This policy explains what data the app touches, why, and what never happens with it. The short version: your calendar is yours. Pocket Cal uses your data only to provide the calendar and AI features you see in the app — never for advertising, never sold, never used to train AI models.

Data the app accesses

• Calendars & reminders on your device — read and written through Apple's EventKit, with your permission, to display and manage your schedule. This data stays on your device and in your own calendar accounts.
• Google user data (if you connect Google Calendar) — see the dedicated section below.
• Microsoft account data (if you connect Microsoft 365 / Outlook) — calendars, events, and event attachments, accessed through the Microsoft Graph API solely to sync your calendar two-way within the app.
• Photos & camera (optional features) — only when you actively pick or take a photo. Processing (like subject cut-outs) happens on-device.
• Approximate location (optional) — used only to show a local weather forecast inside the app's assistant.

Google user data

If you choose to sign in with Google, Pocket Cal requests access to Google Calendar (and, for attachments you add, Google Drive file access limited to files the app creates). This data is used exclusively to:

• display your Google Calendar events inside Pocket Cal,
• create, edit, move, and delete events you manage in the app (two-way sync), and
• attach files you choose to your own events via Google Drive.

Google user data is processed on your device. Access tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device only. Pocket Cal does not operate servers that receive, store, or process your Google user data, and it is never transferred to third parties.

Limited Use disclosure: Pocket Cal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing calendar features described above; it is not used for advertising; it is not sold; it is not used to train generalized AI or machine-learning models; and no humans read it except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, or to comply with law.

AI features

When you use AI features (natural-language event creation, the Co-Pilot chat), the text you type or dictate — and, if you have enhanced cloud reasoning enabled, a summary of relevant schedule context — is sent to an AI processing service to generate the response, then discarded. You can disable cloud processing in Settings → AI Assistant, keeping chat fully on-device. You can also exclude event titles from any cloud request. AI inputs are never used to train models.

What Pocket Cal never does

• No selling of your data, to anyone, ever.
• No advertising or ad-tracking of any kind.
• No training AI models on your calendar or messages.
• No collecting your data on our own servers — Pocket Cal is a client app; your data lives on your device and in your own accounts.

Analytics

The app records anonymous, aggregate feature-usage signals (for example, "a share card was created") to understand what's useful. These contain no calendar content, no personal identifiers, and cannot be tied to you.

Data retention & deletion

Calendar data lives in your calendar accounts and on your device — deleting the app removes all app-local data, including attachments and cached AI context. Disconnecting a Google or Microsoft account in the app deletes its tokens from your Keychain immediately. You can additionally revoke Pocket Cal's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions or account.live.com/consent/Manage.
